This 3 day intensive wildlife tracking course in Scotland is ideal for those who already have some tracking experience and would like to take it further (although you are still welcome and will gain a lot if you are new to tracking). Tracking develops our ability to observe subtle clues and understand wildlife behaviour and ecology. We will look in detail at more advanced tracks and signs left by a range of birds, mammals, amphibians and invertebrates in variety of fantastic habitats, from the wild River Findhorn, estuary and coast, to woodland, farmland and more! This course will also be ideal preparation for the CyberTracker Track & Sign evaluation taking place 25-26 October!
NB In addition to the 3-day in person course, there will be two FREE 1 hour long webinars with Dan (dates to be announced) to help consolidate your learning!
You will build confidence in recognising and interpreting more difficult to identify and obscure tracks and signs in a range of substrates. We will explore how tracking can enhance our understanding of the wider ecosystem by drawing upon many different aspects of natural history.
During the course we will cover:
Advanced track identification
Sign recognition – (including feeding sign, droppings etc)
