Wild Food

Wild foods can be tasty and nourishing. Learning what you can eat in the wild requires we engage with the natural world with all our senses. Dan is an experienced forager, and his seasonal foraging walks have become very popular over the years. The emphasis is always on sustainability, safety, appreciation and fun! On his foraging sessions you will learn about traditional uses of plants, identification, nutrition, preparation, plant ecology and much more.

“What made the day special was the combination of learning, doing, and tasting! I've made elderberry cordial several times since the workshop and have loved having the knowledge of not only knowing how to forage, but also how to do so responsibly.”
– Claralynn

“I really enjoyed the autumn foraging course - I learned a lot and it was great to have a go at cooking with some of the food that we foraged.” – Laura Smith,
Spey Bay Ranger, Scottish Wildlife Trust

“Loved the foraging day especially learning how to process wild foods. But most importantly learnt (things) I have been able to use since the course. Dan is great at leading & highly knowledgeable. A good fun day that I recommend to all who like the outdoors." –Kya
